Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins today announced Senate Committee Chair assignments for the upcoming Legislative Session. Over its first Session, the new Senate Democratic Majority held over 100 hearings and roundtable discussions, excluding the usual budget hearings. Hearings were held on issues ranging from sexual harassment and housing discrimination to addressing the opioid and substance abuse crisis and housing protections. These Senate hearings and roundtables were held throughout New York State, to encourage greater participation and a diversity of views, priorities, and concerns to be expressed.
