Alliance for Clean Energy New York
- The Alliance for Clean Energy New York is a group of organizations which share the goal of bringing clean energy technologies to New York. This alliance includes non-profit environmental, public health and consumer advocacy organizations, educational institutions, and private companies that produce or sell renewable energy technologies or energy efficiency services. ACE’s mission is to promote the use of clean, renewable electricity technologies and energy efficiency in order to increase energy diversity and security, boost economic development, improve public health, and reduce air pollution.
Alliance for Quality Education
- A coalition of 230 organizations that seeks to ensure that every child in New York State receives a quality education by reducing class sizes, improving learning facilities and materials, providing all children with access to universal pre-kindergarten, supporting academic remediation and enrichment programs and making sure there is a qualified teacher in every class room.
American Jewish Committee
- Motivated by the belief that individuals have a duty to participate in public life, AJC seeks to protect fundamental constitutional freedoms and American democratic ideals, including the separation of church and state, the prevention of racism and bigotry and the advancement of social and economic justice here and abroad.
Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center Inc.
- The Bedford Stuyvesant Family Health Center is a provider of high quality, affordable healthcare in medically underserved Brooklyn, New York. Operating since 1978, the center was designated a Federally Qualified Health Center in 1992 and provides care to more than 13,000 individuals each year.
Business Outreach Center Network
- For the past decade, this small business development organization has been providing business services to underserved entrepreneurs in the New York City region.
Coalition for the Homeless
- This organization provides services and advocates for homeless individuals at the state level and in New York City. As part of its work, the Coalition seeks to advance legislation that reduces homelessness or has positive impacts on homeless, disabled, and low-income people.
Coalition of New York State Alzheimer’s Association Chapters
- Advocating for people with Alzheimer’s and related disorders as well as those individuals’ caregivers, friends and families, this association seeks advancements in research and enhanced care on the local, state and federal levels.
Friends of Hudson River Park
- The Hudson River Park is located on Manhattan’s West Side, stretching along the waterfront from 59 th Street to Chambers Street. It is the City’s largest open space undertaking since the establishment of Central Park. This nonprofit organization pursues the public and private funding and support needed to build and operate this educational and recreational riverfront park.
Gay Men’s Health Crisis
- Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) is a not-for-profit, volunteer-supported and community-based organization committed to national leadership in the fight against AIDS. Our mission is to reduce the spread of HIV disease; help people with HIV maintain and improve their health and independence; and keep the prevention, treatment and cure of HIV an urgent national and local priority. In fulfilling this mission, we will remain true to our heritage by fighting homophobia and affirming the individual dignity of all gay men and lesbians.
Natural Resources Defense Council
- NRDC, comprised of over one million members, is the nation’s largest environmental action group. The organization seeks to enact legislation that protects the planet’s wildlife and wild places in order to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.
New York State Camp Directors Association
- This organization is an umbrella organization of profit and non-profit resident and day camps in New York and dedicated to the children they serve.
New York State Defenders Association
- The New York State Defenders Association, a not-for-profit, membership organization, has provided support to New York's criminal defense community since 1967. Its mission is to improve the quality and scope of publicly supported legal representation to low-income people.
New York State Nurses Association
- With more than 34,000 members, NYSNA is New York’s largest union and professional association for Registered Nurses. NYSNA works to advance the nursing profession through collective bargaining and legislative activities and by fostering high standards of nursing education and practice.
New York State School Food Service Directors
- NYSSFA is a non-profit association of nearly 3,500 members who plan and serve meals in New York’s public and private schools. Their goal is to ensure the health and nutritional well-being of New York’s children.
New York State Trial Lawyers Association
- NYSTLA represents some 5,000 trial lawyers and advocates for the legal rights of those injured by negligence.
New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty
- New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty is a statewide coalition of organizations and individuals committed to the abolition of capital punishment. NYADP advocates for public policy change through education, grass-roots organizing and lobbying.
